A newly established Federation Colony named Abrao, located at the very edges of Federation Territory transmits an urgent distress call, reporting that the entire colony system is under attack by an unknown enemy, and then falls silent. While investigating a distress call from the U.S.S. Bethesda, a medical research vessel which sent a distress call and then fell silent, the news of a second distress call from the colony is received. The U.S.S. Victory is sent to investigate, only to find that the Colony and every single outpost and ship within the entire system has been destroyed. The few survivors report an enemy of incredible power and hostility which did not respond to any attempts at communication.

The Victory must try and identify this new threat..

A massive Borg attack against Federation held systems in the Delta Quadrant has left Task Force 38, and it's personnel, now cut off from the Federation. SB 900 has been destroyed, and the Gateway which allowed Federation ships to travel to the Delta Quadrant from the Alpha Quadrant safely and quickly has been destroyed. Task Force 38 is now cut off, and alone. The USS Victory was too far away from SB 900 and the Gateway to participate in the battle.. and learns of the attack too late to be of any assistance.

The only difference between the Sol System, and this one.. is that while there are indications that a highly advanced civilization once lived on the beautiful blue and green third world in the system, it was abandoned at least 60,000 years ago.
