Imperial Terran Research Station Omega

Posted on Tue Aug 20, 2019 @ 2:30pm by Fleet Captain Rhea Kennit

601 words; about a 3 minute read

Mission: Plaga Navis
Location: As yet unknown
Timeline: 72 hours roughly after Kennit was abducted

Located deep within a massive cloud of gas and rocky debris far from any star, the left overs of creation perhaps, or remnants of a long dead solar system whose sun had burned out and it's fading remnants little more now than dust and gas deep within the emptiness between stars. The dark nebula was home to a massive asteroid field, tumbling and spinning through the endless night. Hidden by the massive stones which tumbled through the field around it, it's power signatures almost perfectly masked by the radiation and electromagnetic fluctuations of the gas clouds, the Imperial Terran Research Station Omega was perfectly hidden from prying eyes.

Here the Imperial Terran Command had established the research facility where the viral pathogen developed as a weapon against the intrusion of the United Federation of Planets had been brought to fruition. It was here, Dr. Quincy Jones considered himself to be Master and Commander of his own small kingdom. As long Admiral Cartwright was not currently on-station. In which case, he was fully subservient to the true Master of the Imperial Terran Empire. Wisely.

Currently, Dr. Jones was staring with rapt attention at the display console on his desk. The image showed a cluster of small, perfectly designed nanites of a type he'd never imagined, much less seen.

"Amazing.. absolutely amazing.. my god look at them.. incredible..."

His gaze rose to stare at the source of his new toys, lying prone on a medical bed within a full-strength force field which kept the slender, beautiful woman in place. Enough narcotic sedatives to kill a Klingon coursed through her veins kept in steady levels in her blood stream by the medical bed's systems and still, based on the readings of the bio scanner she was close to regaining consciousness. That he did not want. Not yet anyway. Not until they had a more secure means of keeping this incredibly dangerous female controlled.

Captain Torrance had brought them an amazing prize with his return to the fold. A Starfleet Captain no less, one who was evidently a member of the Federation Starfleet Intelligence division known as Section 31. As if that wasn't prize enough, this woman was Borg. By all accounts, not just any Borg but a Queen whose neural implants and enhanced body were unique even among the Borg.

Somehow a Federation physician had found a way to counter his little project using these incredible nanites which were produced by the Starfleet Captain's body.

"Amazing.." he breathed softly again. Touching a set of controls, the display shifted to show a full body scan of the prisoner's body. Nanites coursed through her bloodstream, the human / El Aurian half-breed's physiology was different in and of itself but what made her truly valuable was the network of Borg implants in her body. Her skeleton and muscles were enhanced by a fine net of Borg technology, no more than ten atoms in width and yet incredibly strong and as he'd already established with a simple exploratory surgery, capable of self-repair in an amazingly short time. Faster than the physical tissue healed for certain.

Rising, he walked over to stand next to the still unconscious woman. Gently, he brushed a lock of her hair back from her face. "You and I.. we're going to be friends. I have the scans and a basic schematic of your neural implants now. Before long, I'll figure you out lovely lady. Captain Torrance has given me an interesting suggestion to help persuade you. His suggestion is unique but then again," Jones said as he touched her face. "So are you.. aren't you."
