Acting Captain's Personal Log.

It's been a bit over twenty-four hours since Lieutenant Naroot provided us with a flight plan, and we're now at the point where we can send out the Ranger safely. It will take them approximately eleven hours to reach the asteroid belt, during which the Victory will explore a nearby nebula. I can only hope one of these endeavors will result in us rescuing the captain.

Alec walked back onto the bridge and sat down in the center chair. "Mister Davenport, are we on course?"

"Aye, Captain," Markus said from the helm. "Nebula is in our sights, as is the asteroid field. Ranger is clear for departure."

“Sensors show the Ranger has a clear path,” reported Camille from the science station. “The nebula is ahead and I’ve begun passive readings. We won’t switch to Active until we’re closer.”

"Keep your eyes on the data. Don't miss it.." Hunter said. On the sensor display, the data for the massive nebula showed the continual rolling motion of the gas and dust which comprised it's mass. Bursts of energy registered as well, discharges caused by the interactions of the gaseous molecules with each other, and with the dust and asteroids tumbling through the nebula's dark heart. The information was sporadic and constantly changing, impossible to get a lock on any one point for more than a few seconds before the interference created by the nebula's energetic composition caused the sensors to lose definition.

But if the Captain were among those shifting readings, Camille would spot them. “Aye, sir,” she replied, her eyes fixed on her screens.

"Will do," Nicole said, sitting down in one of the rear seats. She placed her black bag in her lap as she secured herself into the chair, taking a deep breath and holding her bag close.

Summers came through the hatch a minute or two behind Nicole. A smile was on her face slightly emphasizing her up swept eyebrows and g
